Salesforce is having a tough time getting customers to commit to using its Agentforce product, which lets customers build AI agents using their corporate data, and is now considering pricing changes to spur adoption, as we reported earlier today.
Currently, Salesforce charges $2 for each customer service conversation that its AI agents handle. Soon, simple conversations may cost less than $2, while more complex ones that require the agents to pull data from multiple sources could cost more, according to a person who recently discussed the matter with Salesforce executives.
Agentforce is one of the most important products Salesforce has ever launched, and making costs more predictable could go a long way toward getting customers to adopt it. But Salesforce still has work to do to help customers understand the technical steps they'll need to take to use AI agents and the value they can get.
