**Pew Research poll asks what workers are doing with AI chatbots.**

Responses from 5,273 employed adults in the US show that 52 percent are worried about the use of AI in the workplace. People who reported using AI were more likely to say they believe it will affect future job opportunities, whether saying it would lead to fewer (42 percent) or more (15 percent), compared to 32 and 6 overall, respectively. The most common uses? Doing research or editing written content.

**Most common uses for AI chatbots at work are doing research and editing written content.**

Among employed adults who have used AI chatbots at work, the percentage saying they have used them to:

- Do research or find information about a specific topic: 57%

- Edit written content: 52%

- Draft reports, documents, or other written content: 40%

- Summarize information from documents or meetings: 29%

- Come up with new ideas: 44%

- Help with analyzing data or writing computer code: 35%

- Create or edit images or videos: 21%

Workers are more likely to find AI chatbots helpful in speeding up their work than in improving its quality.

**Among employed adults who have used AI chatbots for work, the percentage saying these tools have been extremely/very helpful when it comes to:**

- Allowing them to do things more quickly: 54%

- Improving the quality of their work: 27%
